Love your cookbooks more.

With CookShelf, spend less time hunting for recipes and more time enjoying them.

Ready to rediscover your cookbooks?

Here’s how it works

Scan

Add books to your library by easily scanning the barcodes on your cookbooks — or searching our catalog in our app.

Search

Open the app and type “green beans” when you accidentally bought too many, or “bolognese” when you make it every year but always forget which book it’s in.

The app will show you all the recipes in your cookbook collection that have green beans (or bolognese), the ingredient lists, and the page numbers in the books.

Cook

That’s why you’re here aren’t you? Go grab your cookbook. Open to the page — you’ll know which one it is already — and get cooking.

Wait, there’s more!

With CookShelf, you can also track your cooking by bookmarking the recipes you want to try, ones you’ve cooked, and your favorites.

 FAQs

  • No, you don’t! That’s because CookShelf doesn’t display copyrighted information, like the actual recipe method. We believe in using our books in the kitchen — cookbooks are meant to get splattered with olive oil in a way phones really aren’t! — and so in the CookShelf app, you can find the page number of the recipe alongside its ingredients list.

  • CookShelf is a subscription service, available for $39.99/year or $4.99/month, but you’ll get a free trial so you have a chance to see whether it’s right for you before committing!

If you already are an Eat Your Books Premium member, CookShelf is included in your membership. Just make sure to sign up with the same email and password you use on eatyourbooks.com.

  • CookShelf and Eat Your Books are part of the same company, and if you sign up for a membership with either one, you get access to both. CookShelf is the name of the upcoming iOS and Android app, while Eat Your Books is the name of the website, which you can sign up for now.

  • At CookShelf and Eat Your Books, we’re passionate about cooking, cookbooks, and recipe creators. We believe real recipes by real people are special, so we build tools to help home cooks make the most of their cookbooks, and discover the best content from their favorite creator wherever it lives.
